Customers FAQ

Here we try to answer most of our customers' frequently asked questions. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Ceramic Coating is a thick layer of protectant that we lay down on the particular surface the coating is formulated for. Think of it as a thick coat of wax but it lasts years, not months. The ceramic acts as a barrier against the elements. Not only does it protect, but it makes the surface hydrophobic. This means that it repels dirt, water, and grime making it 10x easier to clean and dry. We can lay ceramic on pretty much any surface you can think of: paint, glass, gelcoat, and leather to name a few.

Ceramic can last up to 6 years. Our top package, Kenzo 2.0, has a protection duration of 6 years or 60k miles. The hydrophobic duration is the same for all coatings, approximately 1.5-2 years if maintained properly. Even if the hydrophobics die, the coating will still be protecting your paint for the remaining 3-4 years. Coatings can have the hydrophobics restored in a majority of cases by using a topper or a decontamination wash every couple months.

Most interior details can be completed within a 5-6 hour time frame. However, for those that require extraction or deep deep cleaning, we typically keep them overnight so the carpets and mats dry before putting them back in.

It all depends on the correction. No-Correction and Paint Enhancement Coatings take a significantly less amount of time because a majority of labor comes with correction aspect of the coating. Ceramic coating applications by themselves only take about 12 hours from start to finish. Full corrections can take up to 50 hours depending on the condition of the paint and the finish desired. A good rule of thumb is 3-5 days from drop off to pickup. Shorter timeframes can be accommodated upon request. Contact us for details.

This is a BIG one. And the answer is yes AND no. Ceramic by itself will not prevent scratches. If you’ve got something in your microfiber mitt, towel, or car cover and you drag it or push it against the paint, it will leave marring or a micro scratch. However, ceramic does make your paint harder so it will not scratch as easily. Ceramic also makes it so you don’t have to “scrub” your paint to remove dirt and grime. With proper care, ceramic should be a light wipe with a microfiber mitt, rinse, and dry using the 2 bucket method. The 2 bucket method will drastically cut down on the opportunity for dirt to catch in your mitt and scratch your paint during the contact wash.

You are going to use the 2 bucket wash method with a PH Neutral soap. The 2 Bucket Wash Method is a wash process that involves: a microfiber wash mitt, 2 buckets, a foam cannon, a powerwasher, and foaming soap. Some people also use grit guards in the bottom of the buckets for added protection. Watch this video I have linked below for a detailed explanation of HOW to properly do a 2 bucket method wash. While these guys use some different terms than I do, their explanation of the 2 bucket method is phenomenal. Give it a watch, and call me if you have any questions. How to Wash Your Car SAFELY!!! / Car Detailing for Beginners

YES! You definitely can go through car washes with a coated car. HOWEVER, you should always use touchless car washes. While I will always recommend a hand-wash at home for proper maintenance, in the winter and in a pinch, touchless car washes work just fine.

Unfortunately, due to the nature of my coatings and my business in general, 99% of the time I cannot take walk-ins or same day appointments. It never hurts to call though!
